The increase in 2022 tourism data continues in Antalya, which is one of the most important tourism centers of the Mediterranean. According to the data obtained from the Antalya Governorship Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate, the number of tourists who visited the city by air on 1 January-30 September exceeded 11 million.
The number of tourists coming by air to Antalya, which hosts visitors in 12 months of the year with its sea, beaches, nature, historical and cultural values, was 11 million 27 thousand 94.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, the rate of increase in tourists was 57 percent. Antalya, which was visited by 1 million 732 thousand 304 foreign tourists in September 2021, came to 1 million 989 thousand 154 people in the same period this year. The number of tourists visiting Antalya by air in September 2022 increased by 15 percent.
Russia and Germany are the Top Tourist Sending Countries
The city, which was visited by 1 million 732 thousand 304 tourists in September last year, received 1 million 989 thousand 154 people in the same period this year. In September, there was an increase of 15% compared to the previous year.
- Russia: It became the first country to send the most tourists to Antalya. In 9 months, 2 million 339 thousand 536 tourists came to Antalya from Russia.
- Germany: 2 million 195 thousand 860 tourists came.
England: 952 thousand 246 tourists came. - Other Countries: Poland, Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Romania, Israel, Czechia and Denmark.
