Telmessos has a well-protected harbor surrounded by islands compared to Fethiye Bay. The inscription reveals that Telmessos has been inhabited since its inception.

Lycian rock tombs is one of the symbols of the ancient city of Telmessos. The most beautiful and famous is the ancient one, built on two pillars belonging to King Amyntas (son of El Magios) dating back to the 4th century BC.

There are many stairs, so you will be exhausted after climbing, but when you finally see it, Amyntas huge tomb is waiting for you, so it’s worth it. It is one of the most spectacular tombs in Turkey.
