Aspendos Bridge – Historical Bridge in Antalya Serik

The historic Aspendos Bridge is very close to the ancient city of Aspendos. This is the Serik area in Antalya. The bridge is built on the waters flowing from the Taurus Mountains. The Aspendos Bridge connects both sides of the Kopruchay River.

The bridge was built during the Roman period at the beginning of the 4th century AD. The Roman version was destroyed by an earthquake. The new bridge was built by the Seljuks in the 13th century on the ruins of the old bridge. For the construction were used the stones left over from the construction of the ancient city of Aspendos. The bridge was restored in 2003.

How to get to Aspendos Bridge

There are buses from Antalya bus terminal to Serik district. The distance between Antalya center and Serik is about 50 km. Apart from the Aspendos bridge, you can also see the Aspendos theatre, the ancient city of Aspendos and the Aspendos aqueduct. All these places are close to each other.
