Gedelme Castle – Historical Castle in Antalya Kemer
Gedelme Castle, which is located within the borders of Kemer district of Antalya province, was built in A.D. It is a medieval castle built in the 9th century during the Byzantine Period. The name Kadrema, which means grain storage, grain drying, grain protection and grain pit, has changed over time to Gedelme.
Gedelme Castle, which has the characteristics of a warehouse and a castle, has undertaken the task of a warehouse that meets the food needs of many ancient cities in the region, especially the cities on the coastline. There is a closed cave within the walls of Gedelme Castle and a 2,500+ year old Sycamore Tree at the bottom of the castle walls.
