During the War of Independence, after the exchange, the Greeks went to Greece. The new people who settled in the village left the village after a while. Rich people, many of whom were artists and doctors, bought the houses and had them restored to their original form. Many of the buildings in the village are similar to Ottoman architecture.
The stone houses, narrow streets and natural beauties of the village, which attracts great attention with its architecture, are worth seeing. The village, which was founded with the name “Domatia”, which means rooms in Greek, took the name “Doğanbey” over time.
